General Hardware Used:

Ceibo Chip Programmer
XS40 board (per student/group)
Emulator - Phillip's PDS51 "CE" Development System (per student/group)
Each group of students should bring the following materials to lab:
- Medium sized bread board
- Floppy disk
- Wire strippers
- Small screwdriver

Each laboratory requires different materials, the specific materials requried on a per lab basis can be found within each lab. However, for convinence a "master list" of materials is provided.

Depending upon the labs used, it is recomended that student purchase a good VHDL book and/or C book
Students interested in the digital systems field may consider purchasing the following:
- Aldec VHDL simulator student edition
  It's an easy to use yet powerful VHDL simulator written for Windows, and a great deal for around $50.
- Xilinx Student Edition Software and FPGA Board. ( purchase options) ( purchase info). This would be very useful to anyone planning to do further work in digital design (e.g., as part of senior design projects). Cost is about $100.
